  28.           _P_i_x_e_d_i_t makes temporary changes to the installed colormap,
  29.           allowing the user to observe the effects.  It's useful for
  30.           trying to pick that perfect color or find the appropriate
  31.           color combination for an application.

  33.           When pixedit first starts, the cursor changes to a
  34.           crosshair.  Click on the screen pixel whose color and whose
  35.           colormap you wish to edit.  Then, in the upper right there
  36.           will be a box containing the current color along with a
  37.           label showing the current RGB values in X11 hex format.
  38.  
  39.           To adjust the current color you can use one of the nine
  40.           sliders, each controlling one of the RGB, HSV, or CMY values
  41.           for the current color.  Or you can click on a cell displayed
  42.           in the palette to use its color.  The palette button
  43.           underneath the hex label switches between the three
  44.           palettes: range, narrow, and wide.  You can also click on
  45.           the hex label to directly enter new RGB hex values.

  47.           If you click on the "match" button, the palette will change
  48.           to the colors in the file /usr/lib/X11/rgb.txt which are
  49.           closest to the current color.  As you select these colors,
  50.           their names appear below the bottom buttons.  Use the
  51.           palette button to return the palette to an ordinary
  52.           selection.

  54.           The "select" button allows you to choose another cell to
  55.           edit, the "cancel" button restores the current color to its
  56.           original value, the "restore" button restores all the cells
  57.           of the colormap to their original value, and the "quit"
  58.           button exits out of pixedit.
